Meet Vidya Nair
Founder and Clinical Director of Palm Beach Therapy
Vidya Nair, MSW, LCSW, is the Founder and Clinical Director of Palm Beach Therapy & Counseling, where she leads a trauma-informed group practice serving children, teens, young adults, and families. Her work is rooted in creating spaces where clients feel deeply safe, understood, and supported—without needing to translate their experiences.
Vidya is a licensed clinical social worker with advanced expertise in trauma, play therapy, and experiential modalities. She brings a unique blend of clinical depth and leadership, combining direct therapeutic work with program development, supervision, advocacy, and community collaboration.
Clinical Focus
Vidya specializes in supporting children, adolescents, and young adults navigating:
Anxiety and stress
Trauma and emotional regulation
Neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism spectrum differences
Behavioral challenges
Social and school-related difficulties
Identity development and self-esteem
Her work focuses on helping clients better understand their internal world, develop effective coping strategies, and build confidence in navigating everyday life—while honoring each individual’s unique way of thinking, feeling, and experiencing the world.
Approach to Therapy
Vidya’s approach is trauma-informed, relational, and developmentally attuned. She integrates evidence-based care with experiential and body-based practices to support deeper, lasting healing.
Her clinical work draws from:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT)
Play Therapy
Somatic and experiential therapies
Safe and Sound Protocol (polyvagal-informed)
She also incorporates collaborative therapeutic modalities, working systemically with families, schools, and other providers to ensure care is integrated, consistent, and supportive across environments.
Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual, allowing therapy to meet the client where they are—while gently supporting growth and change.

Working with Children & Teens
Vidya creates a warm, engaging, and structured environment where children and teens feel comfortable being themselves.
Her work helps younger clients:
Understand and express emotions
Improve communication and relationships
Build confidence and self-awareness
Develop healthy coping strategies
She believes that connection is the foundation of change and prioritizes building trust as the first step in the therapeutic process.
Advocacy & Collaborative Work
A core part of Vidya’s work extends beyond the therapy room. She is deeply committed to advocacy and systems-level support for children and families.
Her advocacy includes:
- Collaborating with schools to support neurodivergent students
- Supporting children of alcoholics and families impacted by substance use
- Providing guidance to parents navigating complex systems of care
- Offering experiential workshops and training for mental health professionals
Vidya approaches this work with a belief that healing is most effective when systems surrounding the child are aligned, informed, and compassionate.
